What were you made to do? What are your spiritual gifts? These are questions that we all wonder about at some point. The Scriptures talk about spiritual gifts pretty clearly (I Corinthians 12; I Peter 4:9-11; Romans 12:1-8; Ephesians 4:7-13), but sometimes it can still feel like there is a disconnect between the spiritual gifts in the ancient Scriptures and how they relate to our daily lives. Spiritual gifts inventories are helpful in identifying the gifts you have by examining your personality, how you operate on a regular basis, and talents that you lean toward. Identifying your gifts helps you live out of your identity and produce spiritual fruit. If you lead others in any capacity, it is beneficial to know what gifts your people have also. Then, you can intentionally put people in positions or circumstances that empowers them to succeed and be fruitful, which brings health to the entire group.

Which Inventory Should I Use?
Doing a google search for “spiritual gifts test” or “spiritual gifts inventory” will pull up numerous different sources that each vary in ways. We looked through these results to find the best inventories and compared them to each other. Here are the best ones we found and what we learned about them. May this be helpful in choosing the assessment you will use personally or for your group.
Best Assessments for Your Buck
1. Spiritual Gifts Discovery by Group
This is designed for churches or larger groups to distribute to its members. There is a one-time fee of $79.99, which gives unlimited use of the assessment and provides helpful organization tools for leadership to offer the assessment and keep track of the results. It comes with a guide on equipping people to use their gifts.
2. Everybody Has A Part by Ministry Tool Resource Center
The assessment has a few different variations that examines 7, 15 or 20 gifts. For $21.99 you are able to administer any of the tests and it comes with resources for understanding your gift better, how to use it, and offers some insights about your gift. The shortest version (35 questions) that assesses 7 gifts is available for free on their website.
Great Freebies
This may be the best assessment around! It is free. It shows research behind the test. There is a YOUTH VERSION. It can be downloaded in other translations. There are great resources explaining the gifts and how to effectively use them. Spiritual Gifts Test offers support on the front end, with research, and in the process, with a thorough and user friendly assessment, and in followup, with tools to understand and use your gift.
4. Gifted to Serve by BuildingChurch.net
The free assessment found here is one of the most thorough. It asks the most questions to help identify your gifts. The interface looks a bit outdated, but still is easy to use and provides good results.
5. SHAPE Spiritual Gifts Assessment by Solana Beach Presbyterian Church
Five different assessments look at your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experience to give you a comprehensive picture of how you are wired, or what your SHAPE is. All you need to do is create an account and you can take the assessments for free and read tips on how what to do with your results.
6. GiftTests.com by beliefnet
If you are looking for a quick and user-friendly assessment, this is a good one. It uses 66 questions to examine your tendency toward 22 different gifts. You must provide an email address to view your results. This test can be embedded on your own website for free also.
7. Spiritual Gifts Survey by Lifeway Christian Resources
You will need to print this assessment off and manually answer and score your test. There are 80 questions that will help you identify your gifts. There is a graph to visualize your results and follow-up prompts to help process and determine the gifts you have.
